The meaningful involvement of stakeholders in policy, regulation and innovation (Copy)

For an organisation to best serve the public interest, it has to know what the public interest is. The only way to do that effectively is to involve the stakeholders most impacted by the policy or product.

‘We want to involve our stakeholders, but we don’t really know how’ was the plaintiff question that SocietyInside and the European Centre for Not-For-Profit Law have been regularly asked.  But as stakeholders we were regularly ‘consulted’, but rarely knew how our input contributed or felt that we were meaningfully involved in the ultimate decision.

So, we brought together over 140 Civil Society Groups, policy makers, regulators and busines ethicists to  co-created a Framework For Meaningful Involvement in Regulation and also for companies involved in the development of products and services using Artificial Intelligence.
